What is red light therapy, and which device is right for you?
Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light on the skin. Different wavelengths reach different depths, which is why these devices combine several rather than relying on one.
What do the wavelengths do?
- 460 nm (blue) — sits on the surface, targets blemish-prone skin
- 590 nm (amber) — works on tone and the look of redness
- 630 nm (red) — the wavelength most associated with firmness and fine lines
- 850 nm (near-infrared) — reaches deepest, used for recovery and circulation
Mask or mat — which should I get?
The Red Light Therapy Mask treats the face and neck. It's flexible, sits against the skin, and takes about ten minutes — easy to fit into an evening routine you already have.
The Red Light Therapy Mat is full-body, 180 × 80 cm, and folds away for storage. Choose it if you're interested in recovery and circulation as much as skin, or if you want to treat larger areas.
Most people start with the mask. The mat makes sense if you're already using light therapy regularly and want to go further.
How often should I use it?
Most people use these three to five times a week. Consistency matters far more than session length — short, regular sessions outperform occasional long ones.
Both devices ship across Toronto, the GTA and the rest of Canada. If you'd like help deciding which suits your routine, Rachel offers a complimentary consultation.
